CachyOS

NVIDIA

CachyOS normally handles NVIDIA driver setup for you.

Automatic driver setup

You usually don’t need to install NVIDIA drivers yourself. CachyOS detects your hardware and normally installs the appropriate driver during installation.

According to its documentation, this is handled by CachyOS Hardware Detection, also called chwd. It chooses and installs the driver packages your system needs.

Need to change something?

The same tool can also manage drivers after installation. If your driver wasn’t set up correctly or you need to change it, follow CachyOS’s hardware detection guide (opens in a new tab).
