Bazzite

Codecs

Bazzite includes media codecs without extra setup.

What are codecs?

Codecs let apps play different audio and video formats.

Without the right codec, a video might play without sound, show a blank screen, or not open at all. Installing the missing codecs helps your apps play those files.

Are they already installed?

Bazzite includes media codecs for you. It also includes support for using your graphics card to decode H.264 video, where your hardware supports it.

You normally don’t need to install extra codec packages. Try playing your audio or video first.

Something won’t play?

Update Bazzite and your apps, then try again. If it still won’t play, check the app’s help or Bazzite’s documentation (opens in a new tab).

See Bazzite’s included features (opens in a new tab) for more information.
