Do you need to install a driver?

Usually, no. The main AMD graphics driver is built into the Linux kernel, the core of the system. Most desktop distros also include the other graphics software needed for everyday use and gaming.

Driver updates arrive through your normal system updates. Very new cards may need a newer distro release to work properly.

What about AMD’s website?

You usually don’t need its separate driver download for gaming. Some work apps need extra AMD software; follow the app’s instructions if that’s the case.
